Aran Spiosrai recipe

Aran Spiosrai ingredients list:

10 oz Flour.
2 teaspoons of Baking powder.
½ teaspoon of Baking soda.
1 teaspoon of Mixed spice.
½ teaspoon of ground Ginger.
4 oz light brown Sugar.
2 oz candied chopped Peel.
6 oz Raisins.
4 oz Butter.
6 oz Golden syrup.
1 large Egg (beaten).
4 tablespoons of Milk.

Instructions for Aran Spiosrai:

1. Preheat the oven to 325 F.
2. Sift the flour, baking soda and baking powder together into a large bowl.
3. Sift in the mixed spice and ginger.
4. Mix in the brown sugar, chopped peel and raisins.
5. Melt the butter with the syrup over low heat.
6. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients, pour in the butter and syrup mixture.
7. Add the beaten egg and milk and mix well.
8. Grease a 2 lb loaf tin. Add the mixture to the pan.
9. Bake the loaf for 40-50 minutes or until cooked.
